The Company Prevails
19 Kythorn, 1373
The last day has seen much happen to us. I have been tested and in some way have failed. Fearing that Claudia’s child would fulfill his destiny as a phylactery for evil, I felt I had to end his life. I have now lost my connection to the Triad. I hope I can make things right in my Gods eyes.
We traveled to the lidardmen town and managed to see King Yarshag without hacking our way in. He was used as a tool of evil. I feel for his position as I have felt the same way. He is not good, but seems to have some honor and I think we can use him to aid our cause, especially after we defeated his elite pets and guards.
Corim arrives though Yarshag’s portal. I am pleased to see him well and he seems to be our ace in the hole to finally beat this evil plot.
Yarshag led us to Mohrgret. We are met by a huge Black dragon. I managed to use a pendant Yarshag gave me to control it long enough to for the company to kill it. We enter Mohrgret’s lair. She is working to advance this plot and Kelestri is making deals with her. I am forced to follow her foolish decision. I will live to see a time when I will have the power to never compromise my principles. Mohrgret bails on us, with the original phylactery, which doesn’t surprise me. What did surprise me is that we have the cure for Alyona.
The company figures out how to open a portal to Maskyr's Eye. We face Azhurdean. For the third time today I wonder if my end is at hand. It seems I am almost powerless to control the day’s events.
Unther is freed for the gem and dies to save his daughter Alyona. I am truly touched by his devotion. We finally get to pay homage to a real and true hero of the Vast, Unther. He is greater than his deeds alone can tell. I only wish I could have known him better.
Pavel is reborn and walks into manyoak. The feelings run too deep for words. I can say that I cannot be happier. The Vast is healed and for the first time hope is here and good is now a good match to evil. In the next years I will strive to give the forces of good and law the upper hand. Halenbrier asks to have Tothlorin returned. I confess my failure to him. Fortunately Tothlorin is a benefactor of the healing of the Vast. Halenbrier asks me to govern Kirth. I accept his charge, and will make him proud of his choice.
I have learned many lessons for this chapter of my life.
